Shree Sadguru Digambardas Maharaj took Mahasamadhi (the last conscious communion with God) on May 21, 1989, in Pune. His Samadhee Mandir was built on the same premises near his Guru’s temple shrine.
The current temple shrine is made with black granite and is newly built. This granite temple was built in just one year. The temple of Shree Sadguru Sahajanand Saraswatee Maharaj is twenty-eight feet high.
There are two small temples built in front of the entrance of Shree Devi, Shree Ganapati, Shree Dattatreya, and Shree Hanuman, with the holy Audumbar tree (the Cluster Fig tree) in between.
Shree Siddhivinayak temple was built on 31st August 2020. The story of the creation of this small but very beautifully built temple measuring 12 by 10 feet is equally beautiful. It was Shree Maharaj’s dream to build a Shree Siddhivinayak temple on the shrine premises.
One day, Shree Kaka Maharaj said, “It has been suggested that a temple of Lord Ganesha should be built at this place. Shree Maharaj had given me this order long ago. This is a fact of 1988. Shree Maharaj was very tired then. One day, he told me to take me to Shree Baba Maharaja's temple. So, I took him to Shree Baba's temple. He took Shree Baba's cinders (अंगारा), tirthprasad. He was in a state of meditation there for some time. Then he said that I could see Lord Ganesha sitting on Shree Baba's feet. At that time, there was a sapling of Shami, who was very dear to the deity Ganesha. At that time, he told Mr. Narayan Phansalkar Guruji to make a small sapling of Shami (holy tree).
Shree Kaka, standing tall, told everyone this fact and said that Sadguru had expressed a wish long ago, but today he reminded me of it very strongly, and now we have to make it happen quickly. Let's get to work without thinking about what the situation is outside when the workers are satisfied!
Immediately, Shree Kaka described the outline of the proposed temple, and everyone returned from there and got to work on the construction of the institution. Surprisingly, the temple was built in just two months, and that was also during COVID-19.
Adjacent to Shree Maharaj's residence in Pomendi, there is an ancient Shriram temple privately owned by the Joshi family. In that temple, Shree Maharaj used to worship Shree Rama with passion, reciprocating Shree Rama the secrets of his heart. He would ask Shriram to come and play with him. How he was devoted to Shriram. This is A big festival was held in this temple every year on Ramnavami. Shree Maharaj himself has preached kirtan in this festival a few times during his stay in Mumbai. The temple was a simple Mangalori roof tile with an enclosed inner sanctum of a temple on one side and an open hall on three sides. In 1993, this temple was restored by Shri Vithalrao Joshi Charities Trust. The temple was opened for the devotees by performing religious rituals on the occasion of the Ramanavami festival.
Shree Sadguru Digambardas Maharaj’s Temple in Pomendi was restored as the birthplace of Shree Maharaj in the last week of March. A complete makeover of Shree Maharaj's ancestral home, the room where Shree Maharaj was born, a beautiful oil painting of Shree Maharaj is installed in a beautiful, carved wooden shrine. The whole house has been updated and designed in such a way as to accommodate visitors if required. The house is decorated like a new homesteader's house should be decorated. There is a garden with flowers planted on the premises of the house. Adequate toilets are constructed. A Brahmin family has been appointed to perform puja, offering, and aarti in the place, and care has been taken to ensure that the place is always clean and tidy. Nature is beautiful. Nestled among coconut, palm, and mango groves in the free-flowing village of Pomendi, this location is serene and utterly tranquil.
