BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College

Shri Vithalrao Joshi Charities Trust started BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College on 1st September 2015. This huge medical facility hosts all modern amenities required for a fine medical college. 5 Fully Air Conditioned lecture halls are built embedded with modern auditorium equipment. Each section includes elaborate laboratory, library, demo room, central research laboratory along with independent museums that hosts various prototypes, photos, slides, charts and models. The selected teaching staff is highly educated, skilled, and has dedicated themselves to this educational service. All these factors contribute towards making this medical college an ideal educational institute. The trust received substantial appreciation for accomplishing a project of this nature in such a short timeline.

Samarth Nursing College

Samarth Nursing College commenced with SVJCT’s vision of empowering women, making them self-sufficient and thus enabling them to live a life with respect. It was important to ensure that the young village girls who can’t go to big cities for education due to financial and social limitations should get the opportunity to have specialized education to contribute substantially in the overall development of the society. These nursing courses have not only empowered these girls but has opened a new world of employment opportunities for them. Some have been employed wth Tata Hospital at Mumbai, some have gone abroad with good remuneration packages, while some are wellsettled in their villages offering quality healthcare services. More than 1500 girls have chosen the field of Nursing and become financially independent.

Samarth Education Institute

Samartha Educational Institute was established in June 2017 by the trust. The main objective was to offer skill based courses which will help the students to get employed and to cater to the demand and supply ratio of technicians and health workers required in the medical field. Mentioned below are UGC approved courses designed and run by the college in association with University of Mumbai’s, Garware Institute of Career Education and Career Development.

B.K.L. Walawalkar College of Physiotherapy

In 2019, the S.V.J.C. Trust achieved yet another milestone on their journey of social upliftment in this downtrodden region - the ‘B.K.L. Walawalkar College of Physiotherapy’ was established in affiliation with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik to introduce physiotherapy education in the Konkan region beginning with a capacity of 40 students with the approval from the Government of Maharashtra. Some key highlights of this new addition to the campus:
1. Bachelor of Physiotherapy, a 4-year degree course plus mandatory 6 months internship
2. Excellent infrastructure and facilities with fully equipped Kinesiotherapy and Electrotherapy laboratories
3. The Physiotherapy College is attached to B.K.L. Walawalkar hospital and B.K.L Walawalkar Medical College, Kasarwadi, allowing students to gain maximum experience in real-life settings.

College of Advanced Studies

Every major hospital needs well-trained Para-medical staff besides nurses. With the increasing use of modern machines and equipment, demand for variety of well-trained technicians increased. This led to the introduction of the ‘College of Advanced Studies’ at Dervan on the Independence Day, 15th August 2003. The college conducts courses like Forensic Medical Technician, Endoscopy Technician, Community Medicine Technician, and Emergency Medical Service Technician in affiliation with the Maharashtra University of Health Science and courses like Advance Diploma in X-Ray, Radiography, and Ultrasonography, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Dietetics, Diploma in Hemodialysis Technician, Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician in affiliation with the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education

CBSE School and Jr College

A boon to students from Sawarde, Dervan and adjoining areas, this English medium school is well equipped with every amenity required to make it an ideal school comparable to big cities. In the past 20 years it has expanded into 5 sections, starting from Pre-school all the way to University Level education. The school and Jr college hosts 35 classes and 966 students from elementary section to Junior college. Currently, the junior college has only Science faculty with a foresight that it can help expand multiple career options for the rural students. SVJCT English Medium School received prestigious International School Award for 2014 -2017 from British Council.
