Shree Sadguru Baba Maharaj alias Shree Sadguru Vasudevanant Saraswatee Swami Samarth Samadhee Mandir

Sadguru Shree Baba Maharaj Samadhee Mandir is based in Pune, Maharashtra. On August 18, 1954, Shree Baba completed his incarnation. Shree Maharaj always says, 'On July 24, 1953, my life as Vitthal Ganesh Joshi ended. Now Shree Baba Maharaj is doing everything from this body’. Further, on August 18, 1956, according to legal documents, Shree Maharaj leased the property from Nirmalatai (daughter of Shree Sadguru Baba Maharaj). Initially, the place of the Samadhi was a barren land. Shree Maharaja first built a temporary but proper temple of metal on the Samadhi. All the places were filled and leveled; a wall was built around the premises. Residential building, water tank constructed. A beautiful garden was established so that various kinds of fresh flowers could be obtained for the worship. By purchasing some adjacent land, the premises of the temple were equipped with the necessary facilities. Of course, all this did not happen so easily.

It was Shree Maharaj’s dream to build Shree Baba Maharaj’s temple in stone as Shree Baba has said that he will live for a ‘Thousand years for his devotees’; hence the temple should be that strong.

Shree Kaka Maharaj made his guru’s dream come true. The current temple shrine is built with granite, it is newly built. These granite temples were built in just one year. The temple of Shree Sadguru Vasudevanant Saraswati Maharaj is fifty-seven feet high. The design of the traditional-style temple is magnificent. Some historians claim that such a two-storied stone temple has not been built anywhere in the country in the last one thousand years.

Generally, it takes a few years to complete such temples as the process is very lengthy and cliché; however, these shrines were built in a year exactly within 364 days. This could happen only because of Shree Baba Maharaj and Shree Digambardas Maharaj’s blessings, mainly because of Shree Kaka’s passion to accomplish his Guru’s wish and love towards him.

Some of the highlights of the new shrine made with black granite are:

  • The temples are built according to ancient culture.
  • The specific stones are imported from Andhra Pradesh.
  • The temple is built of stones only; no Wood or Steel is used.
  • The two-storied temple is built with stone slab.
  • The temples are made concealed. It is one of a kind as no other stone temples are built or found which are concealed.

People who visit the temple for the first time get mesmerized by the temples and the premises as no one can imagine that such a place could exist in the heart of the city. The campus is always neat and clean. Everyone can feel the positivity.
